This file is then loaded into the measurement software so the software can compensate for inaccuracies in the microphone. Nothing is actually done to the microphone itself. Some time later, Parts Express began selling a similar microphone branded as the Dayton EMM-6and Herb decided to also offer those as a calibrated unit. In: Measurement basicsSeptember Herb found that calibration of the Behringer ECM microphone was sufficiently popular that he began to purchase the microphones in bulk and sell them as calibrated units so, rather than buying an ECM and shipping it to Herb for calibration, you would just buy the ECM directly from Herb.
It might be worthwhile to contact Dayton and see if they have a distributor in the EU that carries these products, and compare direct order from Parts Express against local prices. I suspected it's one of those things that's too specialised to be available here, so it looks like an overseas order. Thanks Steve! I found those as well and I was going to get the emm from parts express as the cheapest option, but I was hoping I might be able to get it from a UK distributor first. They test it against a known calibrated mic and send you a file with the variations from flat. Has anyone managed to source one of these for a similar price to getting it from the US? Thank you!
